Mary Kate and Paul are the type of down-to-earth, laugh-til-you-cry, best-friends-forever couple that I just adore. We spent a whole lazy afternoon with them last month during their engagement session and they were more than willing to prod sea-creatures, scale slippery rocks at dangerous angles, and climb trees… not JUST to get fun shots, but for the fun itself!
These two love the rustic Washington coast, so we drove up north near Bellingham to take some photographs in a special place. Teddy Bear Cove sits just off the scenic Chuckanut Drive not far from Fairhaven: It’s tucked away down a short tree-lined trail and across the railroad tracks. (Which, coincidentally, I passed over on Amtrak the following week!) The four of us crawled all over that cove from top to bottom and around again as the sun set slowly behind the hazy horizon.
Mary Kate, Paul, we had a most excellent adventure with you. Thanks so much for being good sports. And Paul, thanks for your quick deer-avoiding reflexes on the drive home! We’re so excited for your wedding this August… Knowing you guys, it’ll be a blast!
